Goodwill of Orange County Opens "OC Goodwill Boutique"

--Community Concept Store in Tustin Overflows with Re-Purposed Designer Goods, Including Brands like Gucci and Christian Dior--

SANTA ANA, Calif. – May 21, 2013 – Goodwill of Orange County has announced the opening of its new community concept store, called "OC Goodwill Boutique," in Tustin, CA. The store features clothing, housewares and furniture from designer brands. Unlike any other retail store though, revenue from the OC Goodwill Boutique supports Goodwill job training and placement services for people facing barriers to employment in Orange County.

“This is a whole new shopping experience created for the fashion-conscious shopper looking for great deals on designer brands,” said Corrine Allen, Vice President, Retail Operations, Goodwill of Orange County. "We have a very creative merchandising team who used donated goods to build store displays and merchandising areas that resemble the likes of Urban Outfitter or American Rag. We also received lots of inspiration from our partnership with the Art Center College of Design. Shoppers are in for quite a surprise."

Over 500 shoppers were waiting in line for the May 17 grand opening, the first 50 of whom received a $10 gift card toward purchases at the Boutique or any of the 21 Goodwill stores in Orange County. On both Saturday and Sunday, one lucky shopper won a drawing for an iPad® tablet. And as with all Goodwill retail store purchases, shoppers enjoy no sales tax every day.

"The Boutique is designed to maximize the dollar value of the donations we take in, " said Goodwill of Orange County's President and CEO Frank Talarico, Jr. “The better the store does, the more job training and placement services we can provide. It's a true community enterprise, with a socially conscious mission. No other retail store can say that."

The OC Goodwill Boutique is located at 502 E. First Street, at the corner of First and Newport Ave. in the Larwin Square Shopping Center in Tustin. Hours are Monday - Saturday, 9 am to 9 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm. For more information, please visit
